New to VA with no remote experience? Here is how an admin VA actually starts

You are not starting from zero. Corporate admin experience is remote admin experience with a different desk. The skills in that list are exactly what admin VA posts ask for, so the question is not whether you qualify. It is how to show it, and what to charge while you build remote references.

Most posts on our board state the pay. Of the admin and executive assistant jobs on the board today that state an hourly rate in US dollars, half sit between 4 and 8 dollars an hour, with 5 dollars the middle of the range. Posts that pay a monthly package instead usually say so in pesos, and the job page shows the figure the hirer wrote.

Two things move you up inside that range faster than years of experience: a tidy, specific profile, and replying to a post with a short note that names one thing you have done that matches it.

Write it the way a hirer reads it. "Handled the calendar of a 12-person team" beats "calendar management". Add the tools by name, because hirers search for them. If you have used Canva for internal documents, that is a real skill on a job post that asks for it.

Start with posts that say how to apply and name the hirer, and check the hirer before sharing personal details. No legitimate hirer asks for a fee, a "processing" payment, or a copy of your ID before an interview. If a post pushes you to Telegram or WhatsApp before saying who they are, walk away, and report it on our Report page so other VAs can see it.
